Kenpo Belt Requirements
Below are links to our belt requirements. We encourage all of our students to download a copy of the requirements they are currently working on, to print them out and bring them to class so they can keep track of what they are learning and to take additional notes. To download a copy of any of the belt requirements, just click on the picture of the belt your working towards.
Always remember that belt rank is a privilege that is earned through hard work and discipline. With each promotion comes a greater responsibility to help and to be an example to students of lower rank than oneself.
Yellow Belt Requirements
A Yellow Belt practitioner is given an introduction to the Kenpo System while developing a working knowledge of the basics – the foundation of the Art.
Orange Belt Requirements
An Orange Belt practitioner must strive for the development of proper form so as to enhance the effectiveness of the basics.
Purple Belt Requirements
A Purple Belt practitioner must strive for the development of speed achieved through economy of motion by executing basics with proper form.
Blue Belt Requirements
A Blue Belt practitioner must possess a proper display of power achieved by the correct application of form plus speed of the basics.
Green Belt Requirements
A Green Belt practitioner must strive for the development of timing achieved by the proper application of breath control.
Brown Belt Requirements
A Brown Belt practitioner must strive for the development and display of focused strikes achieved by adding power to breath control. A student must enhance their physical fitness in order to increase ones stamina and to make one more tolerant of pain. A student must strive for the development of mental skills by possessing a working knowledge of the principles, concepts and theories of Kenpo Karate.
